Terms of Use
Offlexity is pre-release software given to a small number of people to run on folders that matter to them. These terms say what that means for you. They're written to be read, not to be survived.
Last updated 30 August 2026
1. What you're getting
A licence to install and use the beta build of Offlexity on your own computers, for your own work, for as long as the beta runs. It's free. There's no card, no invoice, and no obligation to buy anything afterwards.
2. It's a beta, and it will show
Features named as "not yet" on the site are not built. Things will break, builds will change, and something you rely on may be reworked. Neither installer is signed yet, so Windows and macOS will warn you on first run.
Offlexity keeps a version of every save, and no action in it ends a document's history. That is the point of the product, and it is still not a backup. Keep your existing backups running.
3. Your files and your work stay yours
We claim no ownership of, and no licence to, anything in your folder. We don't receive your documents. See the privacy page for the one exception you control: what you deliberately ask the assistant panel.
4. Your own AI subscription
If you use the assistant panel, you're using your own Claude, Codex or GitHub Copilot account. Your relationship with that provider, their terms, their pricing, their handling of what you send, is between you and them. Offlexity doesn't resell anybody's model and doesn't hold a key of yours.
5. What we'd like from you
Tell us what breaks. That's the whole deal. Feedback you send us we may use to improve the product without owing you anything for it, and we won't quote you publicly or name your organisation without asking first.
6. No warranty, and the limit of our liability
The beta is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data, lost time, or the outcome of an audit or assessment. Nothing here excludes rights you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act or Fair Trading Act that cannot be excluded.
7. Ending it
You can stop at any time: uninstall, and your documents and their history stay in your folder, because they were never anywhere else. We may end the beta, or change these terms, with reasonable notice by email. When the beta ends, the version history remains free in whatever comes next.
8. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
